Myrna Loy was born Myrna Adele Williams on August 2, 1905, in Radersburg, Montana.
Her parents were David Franklin Williams, a Welsh sheep rancher, and Della Mae Williams, a trained pianist. After her father's death in 1918, Loy and her family moved to Los Angeles, where she began pursuing acting at the age of 15. In 1923, she became a dancer at the Egyptian Movie House.
Hollywood Debut and Struggles
Loy made her film debut in a bit role in the 1925 silent film "What Price Beauty?" In 1926, she signed a contract with Warner Bros.
