A versatile musician, Jean-Denis Michat (1971-) is trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris from 1990 to 1999 in specialized classes of Saxophone, then Analysis, History of Music and finally Composition and new technologies, .

Pedagogue, he was appointed professor at the Conservatoire de Lyon at the age of 24 and promoted only 1 year later assistant-professor at the Paris Conservatory on the side of Claude Delangle.

His top level class in Lyon now attracts students from Asia, U.S, Russia and throughout Europe.

Since 1996, he formed not less than 150 saxophonists now professionals players from more than 25 countries.

He multiplies the last 20 years teaching experiences at the highest level: European Summer University Gap, master classes worldwide, educational books, jury and chairman in the most famous international competitions (Dinant, Nochta, SaxGo, Andorra...).

As a soloist artist, he is invited in more than 25 co
