Maral djerejian biography books

My book, "Danger and Opportunity--An American Ambassador's Journey Through the Middle East," is part memoir and part foreign policy analysis and recommendations concerning United States policy in this critical region of the world. The book covers most of my professional life. I have been honored to serve the United States of America as a military officer and as an American diplomat for 34 years from 1960 to 1994.

As a United States Foreign Service Officer I served eight United States Administrations from John F. Kennedy to William Jefferson Clinton. Also, I was the only American diplomat to serve as Ambassador to both Syria (1988-1991) and to Israel (1993-1994).
